Snippet Time

dvwood6

A loud crack of thunder in the distance came. She kept her head down and trudged forward as fast as she could without running.

The day became night as the rain started falling more heavily. The drops were now bouncing off the pavement, and she knew, no matter what, that she was going to be soaked all the way through by the time she got home. Lightning strikes were coming in now from the east as she continued her journey south toward her home, cursing under her breath the entire time.

As she reached her red-brick apartment building finally, the rain was almost torrential, and the lightning and thunder overlapped itself. The wind was now whipping about, and she had to hold her soaked hood in place, not that it was doing much good at this point.
